The Tampa Bay Rays announced Thursday that they have activated reliever Andrew Kittredge from the 60-day injured list in advance of their weekend series with the Los Angeles Angels.

Kittredge has missed the entire 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in June of 2022.  The right-hander had been 3-1 with a 3.15 earned run average in 17 relief appearances that season.

The 33-year-old was named an American League all-star in 2021, finishing 9-3 with a 1.88 ERA in 57 appearances after missing almost the entire 2020 season with an elbow injury in which he tried rest and rehabilitation.

To make room on both the 40-man and active rosters for Kittredge, reliever Hector Perez was designated for assignment.
