Now that the lockout is over, Kevin Cash and the Tampa Bay Rays now must quickly pivot to training mode with the players heading to camp this weekend, and it’s a welcome change for the back-to-back American League Manager of the Year.

“It’s been a pretty stressful last couple of months to say the least,” Cash told 95.3 WDAE’s Ronnie & TKras Friday morning regarding the lockout.  “But [I’m] happy that it got done.”

But with such a short turnaround between the end of the lockout and the start of camp, and with many players looking for housing in Port Charlotte and the surrounding areas for the next month, it truly has become a scramble.

Cash also got into the expectations for Wander Franco now that he has been locked down for the next 11 years, his history with pitcher Corey Kluber, and what he expects of the shortened spring schedule.
