Choi, Phillips Officially Placed On IL
The Tampa Bay Rays officially got down to the 26-man roster limit this afternoon by placing first baseman Ji-Man Choi and outfielder Brett Phillips on the 10-day injured list. Choi, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday, is expected to miss 4-5 weeks, while Phillips, who is dealing with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, could miss the first month of the year.
