McHugh To Go On Road Trip With Rays, Archer Has MRI

Reliever Collin McHugh, who is on the injured list with arm fatigue, was scheduled to throw a live batting practice session in Port Charlotte Wednesday morning.  However, inclement weather moved his session from Charlotte Sports Park back to Tropicana Field.  Manager Kevin Cash said that he could be activated during the team’s next series in Baltimore.

The right-hander has been on the injured list since July 25, retroactive to July 22.

Meanwhile, pitcher Chris Archer, who left his last rehab start with the Triple-A Durham Bulls after just one inning on Sunday, had an MRI on his sore left hip, which manager Cash said came back “very clean.”  He received an injection in the hip and is expected to resume throwing Friday.  If all goes to plan, he could be back on a mound soon thereafter.
