Rays Activate Mejia From Injured List

One day after getting first baseman Ji-Man Choi back from injury, the Rays got another piece back healthy as they activated catcher Francisco Mejia from the 10-day injured list.

Mejia went on the injured list May 8, retroactive to May 6, with left intercostal discomfort. In 19 games this year with the Rays, he has a slash line of .300/.348/.450 with a home run and 6 RBI.

To make room on the roster for Mejia, catcher Kevan Smith was designated for assignment.
