Fairbanks Scratched From Game

Reliever Pete Fairbanks was scheduled to pitch Sunday, but manager Kevin Cash says Fairbanks fell ill Saturday night with what they believe is a stomach bug.

“[It’s] not COVID-related,” Cash said Sunday morning.  “Everybody came back negative last night, so that’s a good thing, but he will nit be on the card today.

The Rays skipper said that the plan was to play eight innings today, and that Wacha, along with relievers David Hess and Chris Mazza could all work multiple innings if needed.
