Carney on WDAE: Neither KK Nor Arozarena Make That Play

Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier makes the catch at the wall

Much has been made about Kevin Kiermaier jumping in front of Randy Arozarena to make an attempt to throw out Matt Olson at the plate on Mitch Moreland’s sacrifice fly in Tuesday night’s win.  But I feel that it was unlikely either outfielder makes the play, though it’s probably Kiermaier that has the best chance to make the best throw.  I mention that this afternoon when I joined the Pat & Aaron Show.

We also get into the possibility of Shane McClanahan maybe being called up (which he was officially right after our segment ended), and whether Brandon Lowe will be able to break out of the slump he’s been in at the plate.
