Diaz Returns From COVID IL, Springs Added As Close Contact
Yandy Diaz‘s time on the COVID-19 injured list lasted a grand total of one day, as the infielder was activated today from the list after missing Saturday’s win.
Manager Kevin Cash said Diaz came into the ballpark Saturday experience COVID-like symptoms, and was placed on the list as a precaution after catcher Francisco Mejia tested positive for the illness.
Reliever Jeffrey Springs, who pitched two innings in Saturday’s game, was placed on the COVID-19 list today as a close contact with Mejia.
