A Bad Road Trip Becomes A Wander-ful Homestand

Steve Carney begins the show by going through the brutal road trip through Chicago and Seattle, and how the team even lost the one game they won.  Hear Tyler Glasnow‘s full comments about what he believed help cause his elbow injury, and why Steve doesn’t think the Rays won’t be in a hurry to look outside the organization for pitching help.

We then turn to top prospect Wander Franco, who will be making his big league debut Tuesday at Tropicana Field against the Boston Red Sox.  Steve gets into where he thinks Wander will play in the field, hit in the batting order, and whose spot on the 40-man roster he’ll be taking.

Steve Carney is the founder and publisher of St. Pete Nine. One of the people most associated with baseball coverage in Tampa Bay, he spent 13 seasons covering the Rays for flagship radio station WDAE, first as producer of Rays Radio broadcasts, then as beat reporter beginning in 2011. He likes new analytics and aged bourbon, and is the owner of one of the ugliest knuckleballs ever witnessed by baseball scouts.
