McHugh Still On Pace To Be Activated By Rays, Archer Close To Resuming Rehab
Reliever Collin McHugh is with the team on the road trip in Baltimore, though he remains on the injured list for Friday night’s contest.
McHugh, who has been dealing with arm fatigue, has been on the IL since July 25, but threw a bullpen session on Wednesday in St. Petersburg and remains on pace to be activated by the team at some point in this series.
In addition, manager Kevin Cash said pitcher Chris Archer played catch today at Tropicana Field, and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session either Sunday or Monday, and if that goes well, could resume his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Durham Bulls next week. Archer has been on the injured list since experiencing bilateral forearm tightness in his second appearance of the year April 10.
