Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough left Thursday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays after experiencing what the team is calling right side discomfort.
Yarbrough, who needed 32 pitches to get through the second inning Thursday, doubled over after throwing a changeup that Alejando Kirk fouled off to make it 0-2. Manager Kevin Cash and head trainer Joe Benge quickly got to the mound, and after a brief conversation, removed the left-hander from the game.
Yarbrough came into Thursday night sporting a 2-8 record and a 4.33 earned run average in 19 games.
