The Tampa Bay Rays have a deal in place to send pitcher Tyler Glasnow, outfielder Manuel Margot, and cash (believed to be $4 million) to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it is currently contingent on the pitcher signing an extension with Los Angeles. The Rays would get pitcher Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny Deluca from the Dodgers in the deal, as was earlier reported. The deal and contingency was first reported by Jeff Passan of ESPN, while Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times was first to report on the cash considerations.

#Rays and #Dodgers are now in agreement on the trade – Glasnow and Margot (and $4M cash) for Pepiot and DeLuca trade – pending Glasnow working out an extension with LAD. @JeffPassan says extension is likely. @Ken_Rosenthal and @JonHeyman also on it.

Glasnow is going into the final year of his two-year contract he signed with the team after the 2022 season, and is scheduled to make $25 million. Margot will make $10 million this year, and has a $12 million option for 2025 that has a $2 million buyout, which is likely why the Rays are having to add cash to the deal.
