The Tampa Bay Rays will currently have 73 players in Major League Spring Training when it opens next week.
The team announced Friday that they inked five more players to minor-league contracts with invitations to big league spring training: right-handers Stetson Allie, Louis Head, Joey Krehbiel and Hunter Strickland, and left-hander Brian Moran.
The Rays also invited 13 of their own minor leaguers to major league camp: pitchers Shane Baz and Joe Ryan, catchers Chris Betts, Blake Hunt and René Pinto, infielders Xavier Edwards, Tristan Gray and Greg Jones, infielder/outfielder Miles Mastrobuoni, and outfielders Ryan Boldt, Moisés Gómez, Nathan Lukes and Garrett Whitley.
In the group are players that were traded for Chris Archer (Baz), Tommy Pham (Edwards), Corey Dickerson (Gray), and Brandon Guyer (Lukes). Two former first-round picks of the Rays are also among those with invites: Whitley (2015) and Jones (2019).
