The Tampa Bay Rays announced Monday afternoon that Tuesday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians at Tropicana Field would be postponed due to the arrival of Tropical Storm Elsa, which is scheduled to pass by the region that evening.

The two teams will instead play a single-admission doubleheader beginning Wednesday afternoon.  The matinee will begin at 12:10, with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.  Both games will be seven innings in length.

Single-game tickets for Wednesday will be honored for both games of the doubleheader, with no exchange necessary.  The team said in a statement that fans who purchased single-game tickets for Tuesday through the team’s website and the MLB Ballpark app will receive a credit to their account which can be used toward any remaining home game in 2021, including Wednesday’s doubleheader.

In addition, the Austin Meadows bobblehead giveaway scheduled for Tuesday has now been moved to the July 20 game against Baltimore.
