Ramirez made his major league debut with the Miami Marlins in 2019, playing an 119 games and hit .276/.312/.416 with 11 homers and 50 RBI.

Quiroz, who came to Tampa Bay in the trade involving outfielder Tommy Pham with the San Diego Padres, played for Triple-A Durham in 2021, finishing with a slash line of .268/.401/.526 with 12 homers and 48 RBI in 68 games.

To make room for Ramirez on the 40-man roster, pitcher Nick Anderson (recovery from elbow surgery) has been placed on the 60-day injured list.
