Margot Dealing With Tweaked Groin, Expected To Start Series Finale
Outfielder Manuel Margot hasn’t played sinced being removed from Wednesday’s finale in Boston, and manager Kevin Cash says the 26-year-old has been working through a minor groin issue.
“He tweaked his groin, quad a little bit,” Cash said Saturday. “We’re hoping with one more day, he’ll be back in there tomorrow.”
With New York expected to start left-hander Jordan Montgomery in the series finale, it would make sense to have the right-handed hitting Margot ready then instead of the left-handed Phillips. Cash did say that Margot was available to pinch-hit Friday, and is again available to do so today.
