Mejia Heads To Injured List

The latest member of the Rays roster to spend time on the shelf will be catcher Francisco Mejia, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with left intercostal discomfort.

Mejia was scratched from the starting lineup Friday with the issue, and manager Kevin Cash said they hope that rest and treatment now will prevent anymore significant issue later on in the season.

Pitcher Ryan Yarbrough, who was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday, was activated, and to make room for Yarbrough on the 40-man roster, pitcher Chris Archer (right forearm tightness) was transferred from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.
