Lowe Heads To IL With Oblique Strain
The Rays made their first roster move of the regular season Saturday, placing outfielder Josh Lowe on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Lowe suffered the injury in the fifth inning Friday, one pitch before he was able to single off Rockies starter Kyle Freeland.
To take Lowe’s spot on the active roster, outfielder Jake Mangum has been recalled from Triple-A Durham. The 29-year-old had a spectacular spring for the Rays, hitting .429/.467/.750 with two home runs and 9 RBI in the Grapefruit League.

He likes new analytics and aged bourbon, and is the owner of one of the ugliest knuckleballs ever witnessed by baseball scouts.
