Following the team’s day off after their series with the Washington Nationals, the Tampa Bay Rays have added to the depth for their pitching staff Friday, trading minor-league left-hander Michael Plassmeyer to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for right-hander Matt Wisler and cash.

Wisler was 1-2 with a 6.05 ERA in 21 appearances out of the bullpen with the Giants.  He struck out 26 and walked just six in 19.1 innings for a K/9 rate of 12.1 and a BB/9 rate of 2.8.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Wisler, catcher Deivy Grullon was designated for assignment.
