Fairbanks To Have PRP Shot

Reliever Pete Fairbanks, who was diagnosed with a 50 percent tear in his right lat muscle after suffering the injury on Sunday, said Thursday that he will have an injection of platelet-rich plasma in order to try and speed up the healing process.

Fairbanks, who made two separate stints on the injured list in 2021 dues to shoulder issues, made 47 appearances last year, amassing a 3-6 record with a 3.59 ERA and five saves.

He still will be shut down from throwing for six weeks.
