The rotating menagerie of pitchers continues for the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, as they selected right-hander Shawn Armstrong from Triple-A Durham.

The 30-year old was added by the Rays on July 30 after he was traded by the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations.  Armstrong made 20 appearances with te Orioles this season, with no record and a 8.55 ERA.  Between Triple-A Norfolk and Durham, Phillips has gone 2-4 with a 3.57 ERA in 21 relief appearances this year.

Infielder Mike Brosseau was optioned to Durham, and to make room on the 40-man roster for Armstrong, infielder Kevin padlo was designated for assignment.
