McHugh Activated Off IL

The Rays will get a big piece of their bullpen back for Saturday’s contest, as right-hander Collin McHugh was activated from the 10-day injured list.

McHugh had been on the injured list since July 25, retroactive to July 22, with fatigue in his right arm.  The 34-year-old threw a bullpen session Wednesday at Tropicana Field, and manager Kevin Cash said McHugh would go on the road trip with the team to be activated over the weekend.

To make room on the active roster for McHugh, reliever Louis Head, who worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning in Friday’s win, was optioned to Triple-A Durham.
