The Opening Day lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays took a hit Friday, when outfielder Josh Lowe was forced to leave the game due to an injury in the fifth inning.

Lowe came out of the game after singling off Rockies starter Kyle Freeland.  He appeared to be in pain through the swing, and was immediately met by head trainer Joe Benge after the play.

Later in the game, the Rays announced that Lowe left the game with right oblique discomfort.

The 27-year-old had two stints on the injured list in 2024 because of the same oblique.  Manager Kevin Cash said after the game that Lowe would have an MRI Saturday.
