Kiermaier Returns To Injured List, Head Recalled

Rays putfielder Kevin Kiermaier

For the second time this season, the Tampa Bay Rays had to place outfielder Kevin Kiermaier on the 10-day injured list, this time with a sprained left wrist.

Kiermaier was injured in the second inning of Saturday’s loss to the Oakland Athletics when his hand got caught under the knee of Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman while trying to steal second base.

To take his spot on the active roster, relief pitcher Louis Head was recalled from Triple-A Durham.
