Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow, who was scheduled to throw four innings and around 60 pitches in a rehab assignment for the Triple-A Durham Bulls Wednesday night against the Charlotte Knights, was pulled from his start after just one inning and 11 pitches.

Durham Bulls broadcaster Patrick Kinas broke the news on social media.

Glasnow has been shelved with a grade 2 oblique strain since the end of February, and had been expected to make tonight’s start and perhaps one more before being activated from the 15-day injured list.

The team told Bally Sports Sun’s Tricia Whitaker that the right-hander was pulled from his start with generalized left side tightness.  According to Whitaker, the condition is thought to be mild, and that there was no upside to pushing through the situation.
