Rasmussen Called Up By Rays
The Rays made a roster move after Friday night’s loss, opioning infielder Mike Brosseau to Triple-A Durham, and replaced him on the roster Saturday by recalling reliever Drew Rasmussen.
Rasmussen, acquired by Tampa Bay in the trade that sent shortstop Willy Adames to Milwaukee, was 0-1 with a 4.24 earned run average in 15 appearance out of the bullpen with the Brewers, but since coming over to the Rays, amassed a 2-0 record in eight appearances and did not allow a run in 11 1/3 innings with the Durham Bulls.
Rasmussen was initially drafted in the first round, 31st overall, by the Rays in the 2017 draft, but elbow surgery kept him for being signed, and he was taken in the sixth round by Milwaukee the following year.
