The Tampa Bay Rays made a pair of roster moves before the start of Saturday’s game against the New York Mets, activating first baseman Ji-Man Choi from the 10-day injured list and trading reliever Hunter Strickland to the Los Angeles Angels for a player to be named later of cash considerations.

Choi underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee at the start of the regular season, and had been on rehab assignment in Durham until Tuesday.

Strickland, who was signed to a minor-league deal by Tampa Bay this offseason, appeared in 13 games for the Rays, with no record and a 1.69 ERA over 16 innings.
