Carney on WDAE: Rasmussen Has Earned Rotation Spot

St. Pete Nine 95.3 WDAE

Every Wednesday, I join The Pat & Aaron Show on Sports Radio 95.3 WDAE to discuss all things Rays.

This week, the guys and I get into Drew Rasmussen’s success since coming to Tampa Bay.  I explain how I think that the Rays were smart in trading Willy Adames when they did because if they had waited for the trade deadline, they would not have been able to get nearly the return.  We also again revisit Michael Wacha and where his role could be for the stretch run, and which players could come up when rosters expand next week.

Steve Carney is the founder and publisher of St. Pete Nine. One of the people most associated with baseball coverage in Tampa Bay, he spent 13 seasons covering the Rays for flagship radio station WDAE, first as producer of Rays Radio broadcasts, then as beat reporter beginning in 2011. He likes new analytics and aged bourbon, and is the owner of one of the ugliest knuckleballs ever witnessed by baseball scouts.
