Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips got double the satisfaction of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winner Super Bowl LV this past February Not only did he get a chance to see his hometown team take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy and become the first team to play (and win) the Super Bowl in their home stadium, but he also won a bet with former teammate and Royals catcher Salvador Perez.
Phillips and Perez wagered that the loser of the bet would have to take batting practice wearing a jersey of the winner’s team. Monday that bet was made good, as Perez took BP wearing a Tom Brady jersey.
A bet is a bet.
