Rays Activate Kiermaier From Injured List

Prior to Saturday’s game with the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays activated outfielder Kevin Kiermaier from the 10 day injured list.

Kiermaier was originally placed on the injured list April 6 with a strained left quadricep.  He will be available off the bench, as Brett Phillips will make the start against left-hander Jordan Montgomery.

To make room on the roster for the 30-year-old outfielder, relief pitcher Chris Mazza was optioned to the alternate training site.
