The Tampa Bay Rays have lost another member of their pitching staff, as right-hander Shane Baz has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a right elbow sprain.
The team said Baz was examined today in Dallas be Dr. Keith Meister, where he is receiving an injection and will be shut down from throwing for four weeks.
Baz missed the first two months of the 2022 regular season after undergoing surgery on the same elbow during spring training in order to remove loose bodies.
To take Baz’s place in the active roster, reliever Luke Bard was recalled from Triple-A Durham.
