Carney On WDAE: “No One Happier To See Lockout End Than Me”

St. Pete Nine 95.3 WDAE

Friday, I joined Aaron Jacobson on The Pat & Aaron Show on Sports Radio 95.3 WDAE to talk about the end of baseball’s lockout and the start of the 2022 preseason.

We started with the agreement between the owners and players and discussed how the long bargaining sessions in Florida may have helped the players pull the owners out of their dug-in position.  We also took a look at the starting rotation and expectations of Corey Kluber, and which outfielder could find himself on another team before Opening Day.

Steve Carney is the founder and publisher of St. Pete Nine. One of the people most associated with baseball coverage in Tampa Bay, he spent 13 seasons covering the Rays for flagship radio station WDAE, first as producer of Rays Radio broadcasts, then as beat reporter beginning in 2011. He likes new analytics and aged bourbon, and is the owner of one of the ugliest knuckleballs ever witnessed by baseball scouts.
