It may have taken a couple of days, but the Tampa Bay Rays ownership group has decided the fans are worth more than the hassle of putting up their split-city sign.
Principal Owner Stuart Sternberg joined Neil Solondz on Tuesday’s radio pregame show to announce that the team was changing directions on the decision to put up a sign for the postseason displaying their desire for a split-city plan between the Tampa Bay region and the city of Montreal.
Sternberg said the plan to split between the two regions has not changed, but that putting up a sign would take the focus away from what is going on on the field.
