Cruz Placed on COVID IL
Designated Hitter Nelson Cruz was in the original starting lineup for Tampa Bay, but was scratched due to illness and before the game was placed on the COVID-related injured list. It’s unknown whether he has tested positive for coronavirus, but he will miss Sunday’s contest.
To take Cruz’s spot on the active roster, reliever Chris Mazza was recalled from Triple-A Durham.
